5 Fun Things to Do this Memorial Day Weekend

1Plan a Beach or Pool Day!

Maybe last year you didn't make it to the beach.  Start planning your trip now.  Do your research and create your packing list.  Plan to leave first thing in the morning to beat the crowds.  Identify restaurants and concession stands you want to visit.   Perhaps you have friends or family with a pool.  Offer to bring food, games and adult beverages to make planning easy on the host.  Offer to help clean up, that will get you an invite every time!

2)  Take a Family Bike Ride

Time to assess the quality and safety of your bikes.  Are they well-maintained and working correctly?  Make sure to fill the tires and check the breaks.  Test your car's bike rack and make sure you can find all safety helmets.  Plan your route to enjoy the Spring Scenery!

3)  Plan a Picnic complete with an Arts and Crafts Activity!

Plan a fun and delicious menu for a part you'd like to visit.  Bring some drawing or art supplies to get creative with family and friends.  Go to the dollar store and buy some inexpensive games and activities.  Play cards or board games in the shade!

4) Take a Hike

The Delaware Water Gap and other areas offer beautiful scenery as well as an opportunity to exercise.  Hiking provides a great way to exercise, enjoy nature and chat with your friends and family along the way.

5) Take a Day Trip

Is there a nearby localethat you've been wanting to visit?  Think a cute town with unique shopping and restaurants.  Lunch is an inexpensive way to sample local cuisine as well as visit a town, area or state that is nearby and offers a change of scenery.  Research the area beforehand and visit points of interest.
